DRE Course Prerequisites

The DRE Solution is an IP-based product that will require the installer to be conversant in basic networking skills in order to successfully pass the certification exam. The class is configured on the assumption that students attending this class have previous experience configuring networked devices.

• Certification in the DRE platform requires a previous D2 Advantage/MFH2 certification. Students are expected to have previous experience with the supporting SWiM technologies in order to gain the maximum benefit from this class.
• Students will be required to bring a laptop PC with the following capabilities:
     - Windows XP or newer
     - WiFi capability
     - Sufficient administrative rights to make network configuration changes
     - Firefox browser
• Experience in basic networking skills and fundamental theory
     - Students will be interfacing with a live Master Control Server and will be required to configure their laptop to the classroom’s demo unit on either a static or DHCP connection.
     - General knowledge of the OSI model, IP addresses, MAC addresses, and router/switch configurations is highly recommended.
